COVID-19 HEALTH IMPACTS
Reduced-Risk Activities
Here are some non-exhaustive suggestions of activities that can be done whilst reducing risk of Covid-19 infection. These activities are suggested with the focus of avoiding large crowds and indoor situations where masks cannot be worn (for example, when eating) as these situations are high risk for Covid-19 spread. As with all activities, total Covid-19 safety is not guaranteed, however, with layered protections risk can be minimized as much as possible.
The microCOVID Project provide a Covid-19 risk calculator, to estimate the risk of different scenarios. This uses information such as weekly new cases per 100,000 people, case positivity rates and percentage of people vaccinated.
As surveillance has been significantly reduced in many regions, it may be difficult to find the exact figures to use this calculator. However, it could still be useful to provide an idea of how safe different activities are relative to one another.
